The Walkway over the Hudson that was present in Poughkeepsie was seen to have a very active tourism, and since its opening in the year of 2009, it has transformed the once quieter city into a major tourist destination. Kingston of the valley is names as one of the most affordable and cultural cities for artists and tourists looking for inspiration. The upper Hudson region is also a part of this development starting from Albany, Coxsackie, Athens, Hudson, and Catskill and the Mid Hudson region of Saugerties, Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Beacon, Cold Spring, and Garrison.
