In the film The Devil Wears Prada, the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine named “Runway” fashion magazine Miranda Priestly was a great personality and a born leader too who can differentiate her personal life and professional life. Scenes from the film depicting the relevance that during a fashion event in Paris when Miranda was busy with her works and her personal assistant Andrea Sachs was there with her. At that moment, she came to know that her husband became involve in an extramarital affair (Frankel and The Devil Wears Prada, 2006). She became totally upset to hear that news and start to cry, but as soon as her assistant Andrea enter into her room, she stops crying and again turns into as strong as always. She pretended to be all right and started to prepare herself for the meeting of next day. This spirit of her can define that Miranda was not only a good business woman but also a leader. The other scene from the film which explains the relevance was that one day Miranda decided to recommend her trusted employee Nigel who was an art director of “Runway” fashion magazine to a fashion star James Halt Rising Fashion Company. Every one of “Runway” knew that very well. But when she came to knew that one of her other employee Jacqueline who always want to fight with Miranda for the post of editor-in-chief doing conspiracy to achieve the position of editor-in-chief, then she declared that she wanted to recommend Jacqueline to James Halt company. Miranda knew it very well that Nigel will always go to support her and Jacqueline was one and only competitor of the company. So when Jacqueline left the company, then there was no competitor for her. This confident decision making the quality of her reveals the leadership quality of her. On the other hand, the personal assistance of Miranda Andrea was not able to balance her personal and professional life. The changes of her fashion became affect her family and her boyfriend. In a scene she was busy with her work and went with Miranda for a fashion event and unable to attain her boyfriend’s birthday (Floyd, 2006). Her boyfriend became very much disappointed to her, and she always gave the excuse of her working which was not her dream job, she was forced to do that. Just because of all above reason, Miranda had the ability to be a good leader, and Andrea did not.
