It seems as if the position is more important than the person as whoever the person, the pay is certainly very delightful. Whelton (2012) adds further that there is a trend in the US to hire CEO’s offering extravagant pay packages. This has certainly changed the entire relationship between the CEO and the stakeholders. Whereas, the free market system is very eager and providing valid reasons for the pay escalation, but it is noticed that it is actually doing harm to the larger society. Callahan (2004) claimed that the  CEO pay greed is fuelling the cheating culture in the US and it is fuelling to unequal distribution of wealth which  is being strived for by all countries but few want to take any step in that direction. There is a growing gap between normal employees and their CEO’s and this supposedly has been the case since the ancient times when the King had more wealth than the public. It must be noted that the CEO’s pay is linked to everyone in the country of Australia. When the citizens pay their respective taxes, it goes to the government for providing social services for them. The CEO of an organization, who supposedly gets a contract from the government about an infrastructure project or any other project, is actually being paid the salary which is a small part of the taxes that every citizen has paid to the government. It is a question mark that has the CEO has done in situations which came up for it and were any magic of the CEO. It is a disguise when the CEO is being praised for the company’s success, but no one notices the market forces which are acting in the favour of the CEO and he has just provided a small deviation to the company activities.
