The child kidnapping, which often ends with the murder is a very serious and grave crime, ignoring the feelings of the victims, while making the justice is not correct. The views of the victims or the family members of the abducted and murdered children should be heard, in making the decision about death penalty. Hodgkinson states that “the complexities and voices of the victims should be recognized and heard, rather than presumptively assumed to be a universal cry for retribution through blood” (113). According to the religious views in the Holy Bible, there should be a death penalty for the murder and other crimes like kidnapping and witchcraft. The holy Bible says that eye for eye, tooth for tooth, and life for life. There are many aspects that are reviewed before sentencing someone with death penalty. Some of the aspects considered are that, was the crime really cruel? or torture was involved or not? Did the murderer went out of the way to inflict intensive suffering and pain towards the victim? However, kidnapping a child is itself the highest level of infliction pain and torture. Abducting a child and carrying them away from their parents and families results in great psychological and emotional fear and pain. A child may never be able to come over with such pain. That’s why China included abduction of children and kidnapping in the list of the crimes, which are punishable by death (Hong, and Zhang 368).
