There is human intervention involved in every business activity including procurement of aircrafts on lease from air craft manufacturers, product pricing and business strategy formulation. Thus, there exists possibility that company’s employees or senior managers enter into fraudulent business practices including offering or acceptance of bribes to other players operating in the industry (Merkert and Alexander, 2016). On the contrary, suppliers fail to adapt to technological advancement and deliver sub-optimal supply chain solutions. The airline business is fraught with these risks and none of the players including Southwest Airline are spared from materialization of risk in future.
