Mengzi had a very important and highly optimistic view regarding self cultivation and human nature and posses a powerful challenge towards an idea which does prove that humans require need rules and regulations which can portray a highly important predisposition. Mengzi’s moral sprouts focus on the idea that we humans require self-cultivation for our moral and ethical nourishment. There is no better thing than to practice self-cultivation for one’s own betterment because it is a weapon inside oneself to overcome lack of wisdom. It is because that this idea is a direct result of inclinations which are held by virtue of morality and humanity it can thus lead towards a sense of fulfillment and happiness. The teachings of Mengzi interlink the fact that Compassion, modesty, courtesy and dutifulness are the qualities without which a man may not only help others but he would also be able to understand their problems. As a result, the idea of self-cultivation helps to promote compassion, peace and harmony among humans.
