The research is interesting in the understanding of moral panics because of how it shows technology that is chided for causing harm even when the issue under consideration has always existed. When a new communication technology is introduced, people are often fearful of how it would impact on their families and more on the form of effect so that it will have on the girl child. The restrictive social sphere extends into the modern communication sphere, and technology cannot be held a culprit here.

Cree’s work is a presentation of many of the urban legends that have existed with respect to moral panics and it touches based on the elements of working class females and how issues were raised with them in the pat. It presents issues of the child, child pornography and more. Internet radicalization of murders and the issues faced by the child, such as loss of childhood because of overprotection are presented.
This work is interesting as it presents directly how there is a rampant form of exaggeration observed when it comes to urban legends and how this has created many moral policing. Contemporary communication technologies and advantages are seen to be curtailed because of these moral panics.
Finally, it could be said that this work is the more comprehensive when it comes to understanding moral panics and contemporary communication.
