Townshend had musically transformed the irregularities in the human perception with the help of the emerging synthesizers and general practitioner questions coupled with capturing the human heartbeat and brainwaves to convert them into a plethora of audio pulses. The results of such music generation reflected panicked citizens with different views of revolution.
“What is true of the species that live together in a wood is also true of the groupings and sorts of people in a society, who are similarly in an uneasy balance of dependency and competition. And the same truth holds right inside you….”
This explains the music generation mechanism of Townshend as there are different sorts of people who are gravely feared but some groups have been expansive in power which increased the apprehension in the balance of dependency and competition (Charlton 99-102). In the visuals of the song, it could be seen a Malthusian expansion of power which has been making the citizens weak in independence.
“………there is always danger-the possibility that some variable, e.g., population density, may reach such a value that further slippage is controlled by factors which are inherently harmful”
