Artifacts are referred to as the visible components of the culture. These are the tangible aspects of the organizational culture which is shared by the members of the organization. Broadly, verbal, behavioural and physical artifacts comprise of all the artifacts manifesting the organizational culture. In other words, artifacts may include physical things, informational objects or the conceptual artifacts (May, 2001). Conceptual artifacts are quite common as these are used in the life of the organization and contribute to the motivation of employee.

The second set of artifacts is associated with symbols and slogans comprising of linguistic phrases or employee encouragement (Hatch, 2004).
