Strict laws by the Pakistani government and a check on the same is also necessary for the prevention of water pollution. It is important that the government should make strict laws so that people should not contaminate water bodies. Though the government of Pakistan has made many laws against water pollution, these are not implemented in a proper manner.
Also the drainage water should be treated in a proper manner. In the cities, the amount of water which is put into the drains is huge. Thus, the water which is thrown in the cities should be properly treated (Olmstead et al, 2012). It is important that before discharging the water into rivers, the harmful effluents which may cause pollution should be removed before introducing them to the reservoirs. If the water which is going to the reservoirs is not treated properly, it will be discharged and will cause pollution.
Another very basic prevention can be done by maintaining the self hygiene. People should be motivated and the drinking water should not be polluted. The drinking water should be kept undercover and in a clean place. Also, the practice of cleaning the water reservoirs can be followed on the regular basis.
Water is the most important thing for human survival. Less than 3 % of the total water is fit for human use. Thus it is very important to reduce water pollution. In the nations such as Pakistan, water pollution has been a major problem. The problem of water pollution is huge and is leading to a number of issues for human and aquatic life. Human beings are taking the harmful water which is not treated properly and is leading to a lot of diseases. Thus, it is important to treat the water efficiently and effectively as it may harm the entire ecosystem. Both government agencies and the common people should come up with the measures related to the treatment of waste water and the minimization of the water pollution. It is an issue which may impact the entire nation and also the world. It is important to set standards and norms for the people by the government and take the required actions for the prevention of water pollution.
