Creative thinking is generated through imagination. Imagination of a person must be attracted towards obscurity and complexity. For creative thinking, it is important that person should have self perception, motivation and values that can differ from other individuals. The high potential creative thinking can be seen in individuals having strong emotions and independence of judgment. Some of the scholars consider creativity and creative thinking as an unconscious process, a problem solving capability and an aspect of intelligence in human beings (Craft, 2001; Feldman and Benjamin, 2006). Many scholars have shown a significant relationship between creativity and imagination. According to Vygotsky (2004), imagination is considered as a very important force for the creative activity of all humans. The author further explains that creative behaviour of humans presents them as the creatures, which are future oriented and have the zeal to create their own future by altering their present.

The imagination of a person is supplied by the real life experiences and material generated through reality (Vygotsky, 2004, p. 14). Often children have less enhanced imagination than adults, as they have less exposure to life’s realities. The process of imagination is also influenced by the personal thoughts and feelings. According to Craft (2001), creativity is influenced by the specific elements of the environment. The environment influences the process of creativity and creative thinking. The environment here can be considered as the life’s reality, which further influences the imagination.

The process of creative thinking includes incubation stage, which means that creative thoughts are generated in unconscious process. Illumination can be considered as the sudden flash of light that provides the solution for the problem, which had long been holding. The creative people had the ability to balance between logic and imagination. Such people have strong belief in their own ideas and are emotionally involved in the process of creativity. Thus, creative thinking involve belief, values, motivation and environment that generate imaginations. The play way of education in the schools is used to enhance the creativity and problem solving skills of the students. Creative thinking also depends upon the quality of thinking and imagination.
