The age of the participant is around 21 to 25 years old. The gender is male. The participant has worked with various organizations. In some cases, the participant worked as a part time employee and in other cases they have worked as a full time employee. This has helped because the participant had good experience of working with employee groups and employers. This also implied that the participant had good knowledge on intrinsic and extrinsic forms of motivation because companies use either of these types of motivation techniques. Other defining characteristics of the participant were that the participant has worked on motivation and its aspects before. This allowed him to know about the features of motivation and the influence that this tool can cause on organizations.
The participant has worked with 5 organizations prior to taking this interview. All these organizations were either small and medium enterprises or multinational organizations. The participant also has an experience of working under types of leadership styles and under each, the way to motivate was a different one. This experience also offered great insight when analysing the contradictions found in the research. The participant is of the belief that motivation has a positive influence on productivity. When employees are motivated, they have more inclination towards being productive in comparison to the employees who are non-motivated. The participant informed that they themselves had made programs for a local business in order to help and support them to motivate their employees. For doing this, the participant believed it becomes essential to acknowledge the theories of Maslow’s hierarchy of need because each individual has a different preference and different things will be able to motivate individuals.
