全球互联性和经济一体化正在迅速增加，并已开始变得极为复杂。新国际秩序也可以通过将国际经济的中心点转变为新兴经济体来分类。随着新兴经济体崛起为重要经济体，适当的国际互联性水平得到了加强。尽管中国在这方面处于领先地位，但其它新兴经济体在全球经济事务中的影响力一直在增强，这反映在金砖国家(BRICS)等机构的地位日益上升，以及最近20国集团(G20)的地位。政府间组织的机制在以下方面加强了合作。似乎有好几层具体和一般的合作文书，通常是贸易协定或伞状管制的伙伴关系，也许是某些法律文书，不论是条约或其他文书。此外，大多数与合作有关的经验包括非正式和正式两种性质。
本研究的重点是全面了解政府间组织的有效性，并进一步以G20机制为例进行研究。本报告的研究问题是:“G20如何帮助提供一个有效的过程，以保持新兴国家和发展中国家之间的合作联系?”“如上所述，在进行这项研究时，采用了个案研究的方法，在此基础上解释和分析了主要的研究结果，然后拟订了关键的结论。

Global interconnectedness and economic integration can be seen to increase at a rapid speed and has started to become extremely complicated. The new international order can also be categorized by shifting the central point of the international economy turning out to be an emerging economy. As emerging economies have been rising as significant place, there has been a reinforcement of appropriate level of international interconnectedness. While China is the leader in this context, other emerging economies have been increasing their presence across the global economic affair, in reflection by the rising prominence of bodies like BRICS nations, and since recently, the G20. The mechanisms of IGO result in the enhancement of cooperation in the following ways. There seem to be layers of specific and generic cooperation instruments, typically by the agreements of trade or partnerships of umbrella regulation, perhaps by certain lawful instruments, whether it be treaties or the other. In addition, majority of the experiences related to cooperation are inclusive of both, informal and formal attributes.
This research focused on understanding the effectiveness of IGOs in general, while further specifying the research to a case study that is of G20 mechanisms. The research question set for this report is: “How G20 helps in providing an effective process to maintain a cooperative link between emerging nations and developing nations?” As mentioned, for conducting this research, the methodology of case study has been used based on which key findings have been interpreted and analysed, moving ahead to draft key conclusion.
