CEOs are respected people and often deserve for the position they hold worldwide. With their position, they can actually take some fruitful decisions which help the company to go with the flow of positive market and also to restrict itself from falling behind in times of distress. Thus, it all boils down to performance of the company that is what every CEO must focus on rather than large pay packages and developing greed about it without actually committing oneself to deliver the desired results. Besides, it is also recommended that the board also take some valuable decisions in fixing some performance based incentives for the CEO and not a usual good looking pay package just because the market sentiment is good and their wealth is increasing. Instead, they must focus on balancing the act of hiring a CEO and fix some indicators of performance which will be linked to the pay decided for him.
