The process of documentation is the second situation in the industry project which contributed to the learning experience of interns. The documentation phase is counted as a secondary method of data collection for research. The key documents which are acquired in this stage include handbooks, documents and checklists of mortgage brokers. Mortgage brokers are participants in the survey and interns can gain a lot of information from the secondary data i.e. documents. This part of the industry project helped in understanding the work of mortgage brokers from a practical perspective (Sikaliuk, 2014). The documents obtained in the secondary research are related to the working procedures and activities of the brokers. The probabilities of misinterpreted data or irrelevant responses arise in case of qualitative research. However, the procedures and activity schedules of mortgage brokers can offer the practical view of the processes followed in the domain of research. Respondent views can vary depending on their personal opinions and mindsets. This situation enhances the learning experience of the intern through a novel approach of researching the process itself rather than relying on opinions related to the situation. Interns learn the practical work schedule of mortgage brokers which would not be possible through the analysis of theoretical sources (Mei-fang, 2014). Practical applications of the theoretical context can be observed directly in the documentation process. Theoretical knowledge in the academic sources can offer only a quantitative impression of the problem. However, study of practical applications of the theories helps in determining the professional nuances of mortgage brokers.
