Yet another governance advantage that the single party system introduces is in the form of containment of corruption. However the single party system of China has led to handling of corruption on a more advanced scale. Here it is seen that compared to neighbouring nations like that of India and nations sharing similar ideologies like that of Russia are seen to have faced much corruption, whereas China has actually managed to bring down its corruption rates effectively increasing its economic prosperity (China Daily, 2010). A more responsible Government is the reason behind these benefits. In most democratic societies, the nations are usually left with a fixed set of officials, who work a promised elected terms and within the term they have to push for policies and should also ensure that they work within legislation. This offers them many constraints and the official will only do what is manageable by them given the time frame, the proficiency of the individual might not be put to much use, and in some cases the individual might not take up much accountability for what they are doing as within a certain time frame they would anyways be reassigned. However in China, the single party system ensures that the individual would take up responsibility (China Daily, 2010). They would be accountable for the actions and there is a Principal Officials Accountability System which has been gradually improved over time such that employee and official competency are improved. Over time it has been possible for China to build an employee management system and improvement system for its officials similar to what corporations do for their companies. Personal training is done, along with improved recruitment practices that enable the people working in the governance structure to be well trained. At one end the Chinese system of selection of officials are better than the western multiparty system which would give preferences to individuals based on their support for regional parties (Bray, 2005). The Chinese system does not have any such preferences and nationalistic agenda is always kept in the forefront.
