Business models have been a term which has been discussed for a long time. According to Linder and Cantrell (2000), it is something that is not actually understood in a proper manner. This is also one of the reasons why there is not a proper and a complete definition related to the same. The term model can be defined as anything which can be expressed in the graphical, physical or mathematical form or is represented verbally. The term business describes the process which is involved in buying and selling. Thus, the main idea of the business models is to focus on the way in which the different companies need to do the business (Andersson & Getz, 2009).

The evolution of the number of business models generally occurs as a result of the pressure which may be implemented due to some of the external and the internal factors. Ronsenbloom (2002) also found that in order to develop a success business model, it is important to do the valuable commercialization to the complete technical potential. He has described that any business model may be defined as the mediating construct, which might be in between the technology and the economic value.
