The Berlin wall construction was initially constructed prevent the poor people from entering the rich neighbourhoods (Street, 1997). Eventually, this was bolstered in the early 1980s to make the political ideology pronounced in the region. There is a rich history that has been echoed in this construction. This was eventually broken and people from east went Germany from around the nation was allowed to enter through the wall. Berlin was once again whole after the end of the cold war and end of communism in the region. This city is a sombre city that did not have much of construction near the area during the early 1990s.
While observing the premises, it has been found that this city is a vivacious city that has a lot of newer architectural constructions and art galleries. There is rising globalized ideologies in this region
The original tumult history seems to be the selling point and the architecture of the place seems to bolster this ideology. This was reflected in the architecture. The arts of the place in the modern times were found to be influenced by the growing consumer culture of the place. There was a high level of new building and older architecture. The areas surrounding Berlin is found to be an eclectic mix of both older architecture and the newer architecture.
For this research project, most of the efforts were group efforts. I was able to document and collate the data. We were all involved in all the processes and overseeing the process. It was found that enabled us to produce better results. I was involved in the documentation of the facts. This also enabled in bringing a number of talking points during the Interviews. The success of the project and the effective completion of the project are due to the efforts put in by all the members of the team.
Owing to this, exercise my initial sentiments regarding Berlin has been changed. I did not expect to see a city that was full of life and vivacious attitude. It was initially presumed that there would be a sombre city. But in reality, it has something for everyone. The political landscape the ideology and the interpretation of the elements had enabled me to learn about the rich culture of Berlin. From the street art, the vehemence and the passion of the original artists were understood. The political ideology and the modern day impact of gentrifications were understood from this process. There was also newer appreciation of the architecture of the place, owing to knowing the history of the place. This exercise also enabled in understanding of the overall importance of media and media tools.
