Goal 1: First personal goal that has been identified here is to practice learning of inclusive nature and explore the value of diversity instead of a presumed norm of culture. This I will do by improving over communication. Perhaps the key challenge that is faced through many leaders within the environment of international business is the way in which communication has to be brought forward for fostering cultural awareness (Christopher et al, 2014). Therefore, the key focus that I will have will be on communicating my self-awareness and understanding value of that stimulus. For example, with regard to the hotel industry, I think that this goal is essential because the customers visiting hotels come from different backgrounds and cultures. In order to speak to them appropriately, I need to have awareness of their individual values, stereotypes and biases. Through acknowledging myself, it will become possible for me to enhance the conform level to people who have different values. Also, I think that individuals need to assess their individual awareness of their cultural self and look at understanding my individual values, beliefs and attitudes as a cultural reflection (Tomalin et al, 2013). This goal will also help me to understand the perceptions, stereotypes as well as the beliefs that I hold on groups that are culturally diverse as this might result in hindering my ability of forming relationships helpfully and effectively.
